Poppy Gas
One of the most intriguing aspects of Chapter 3's trailer is the central appearance of a gas mask, which clearly bears some significance to the title, but largely baffled the community nonetheless. After all, chemical warfare and complex survival mechanics seem slightly out of place within the context of the games, which have showcased a focus on psychological horror above all else. However, with a bit of analysis from The Game Theorists on YouTube, the gas masks have a feasible explanation and make for a surprisingly strong Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 theory.
MatPat suggests that Playtime Co. may have been using an opoid poppy flower-based gas, called carfentanyl, to run mass experiments on children. Although the eponymous Poppy may not be Poppy Playtime's so-called flower, an opening sequence for Chapter 1 describes her hair as having a poppy scent. MatPat points out that poppy flowers are known to be odorless, apart from a specific species called the opium poppy, which can be used to create a toxic gas called carfentanyl.
Huggy Wuggy's Return
One Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 lore reveal players might have missed while attempting to escape Mommy Long Legs' wrath is evidence of Huggy Wuggy's unexpected survival. Tufts of familiar blue fur and spatters of blood lead up to a vent in the Water Treatment zone, which hint that the lanky monster actually survived the events of Chapter 1, at least for some time after his treacherous fall.
Thus, it's quite possible that Huggy Wuggy could be returning for Poppy Playtime Chapter 3. Even if he's not the main villain of the title, he clearly has a bone to pick with the protagonist who tried to kill him at the end of Chapter 1, and so it wouldn't be all too surprising to see him return with an even greater thirst for blood. Plus, since a recent teaser video from Mob Entertainment on YouTube reveals hints about Poppy Playtime Chapter 3's setting alongside new lore for Huggy Wuggy, it would seem that the developer isn't done with the beloved character quite yet.
